Forklift Training

Forklift training is crucial in order to avoid accidents. According to NISO (National Irish Safety Organization), accidents involving forklifts are on the rise with new workers more likely to have accidents. Between 2008 and 2016, 33 people have died as a result of accidents in the Transportation and Storage Sector and the third-highest worker fatality rate is in the transportation and storage sector. In Ireland last year alone 40 people received compensation. Total compensation involving forklifts, cranes and diggers amounted to €1.3 million. Injuries included fractures, soft tissue injuries and broken bones. Incidents included: falling pallets resulting in crushed limbs; being thrown from a forklift, being struck by a forklift, or rear-ended while driving a forklift.
